Gary's Page

     Gary enjoys teaching very much, and  feels honored to have worked with so many wonderful aspiring  musicians. He's taught all ages, and  many styles. He takes a customized  approach to all students, and feels patience and a reasonable and  flexible plan is important.   He helps students formulate goals and work  methodically towards them.  He's also committed to keep on learning   himself. He's interested in many types of music, as well as the  potential for social impact, upliftment, and healing in music. 
     Gary is also an accomplished sound designer and recording/mastering  engineer.  His studio is stocked with many of today's cutting edge  software programs, in combination with a lot of old school knowledge for  a great finished product at any budget - see studio experience below.
 

Education:
      Long Island University - BA degree – Jazz Performance, Summa Cum Laude, full scholarship.    
      Kingsborough Community College – undergraduate classical music studies.    
      Brooklyn College - Masters Degree studies in music education.   
      Institute of Audio Research - Completion of Masters Degree component for 

NYU's audio engineering and technology program.   
      New School for Social Research – studies in music business.
 

Teaching Work Experience:
     Private teaching of general music, guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, sax etc 

25+ years experience.    
     Workshops on learning modern recording techniques, and studio technology.   
     Individual and Group music instruction Kingsborough Community College.    
     Band teacher McKinley Intermediate School – NYC.
 

Performance Experience:
     In the Sedona area - with he and his wife Gina's primary musical project 2 SUNS,  

 His instrumental  jazz-rock fusion bands - 3rd Point,  Pipe Dream etc.,  

Cover Bands/Musical Theater -The Heavenly J's, The Rock and Roll Dream Show
     Also numerous hotels, club dates and weddings.
     Venues include Studio Live,The Oak Creek Brewery, The Sedona Film  Festival, 

Canyon Moon Theatre, Flagstaff Orpheum, Prescott Opera House,  

Elks Lodge, Enchantment, Java Love Cafe, Pizza Heaven, Relics,  

Gumptionfest, Earthdance, private events.
     Additional performances in Phoenix and California.
     In NYC – CBGB's, The Vault, The Spiral and many more, with 2 Suns, Present Tense etc.
 

Studio Experience:
     Worked with Lee Curreri in his studio in Marina Del Rey CA,  recording 2 SUNS 2nd CD 

“Love Revolution”, learning detailed modern  computer recording techniques.
     Worked at some of NYC's top recording studios including Jimi  Hendrix’ famed 

Electric Ladyland Studio, Right Track recording, and Eras  recording Studio. This was an invaluable experience as he received  technical training and worked with some of 

the industry’s top recording  engineers, producers, and musicians.     
     Owner of dB Studios – his personal recording studio, Recorded, mixed  and produced many in and out of state artists, commercial releases  and demos, 

as well as music for television, voice-overs, websites etc.
     Recorded with numerous artists in NYC.    
     2002 - released debut CD - 2 SUNS,     
     2008 CD release “Love Revolution” - 2 SUNS
